The authors consider a perturbed convection-diffusion problem in a circular domain. The specificity of the problem under consideration is that there are two characteristic points for the limit problem when the singular parameter \(\epsilon= 0\) and very complicated phenomena occur at these points. The aim of this paper is to provide an approximation of the problem using a quasi-uniform triangulation and a \(P_1\)-finite element space enriched with boundary layer correctors constructed near the circular boundary. The approach in this article uses the concept of correctors for both theoretical and computational purposes. Some \(H^2\) estimates of the error between the exact solution and its asymptotic expansions are obtained. A finite element space which incorporates the boundary layer elements is given and a convergence analysis of the finite element approximation is performed. The results of some numerical simulations are presented.
