The smoothing functions and the approximation technique to solve general nonlinear complementarity problem are defined. A generic way to construct such functions is proposed. Some properties of the smoothing functions and the approximation scheme are discussed. The convergence and error estimates of approximation scheme are studied. A numerical example is given to illustrate the scheme and result.
