    In this paper, a class of nonlinear parabolic equations on some complete Riemannian manifold \(M\) is considered: \[ \frac{\partial u}{\partial t}=\Delta u+hu(x, t)+Au^p(x, t)+B^{-q}(x, t) \] where \(h, p, q, A, B\) are real constants, \(x\in M, t\geq0\) and \(p>1, q>0\). The author gives an estimate for the gradient \(\nabla u\) of positive solution of the equation under the assumption that the Ricci tensor \(\mathrm{Ric}(M)\) is bounded below by the constant \(-K\) where \(K>0.\) Consequently, when \(A=0\) and \(\mathrm{Ric}(M)\geq0,\) the author obtains a Li-Yau type estimate: \[ \frac{\nabla u}{u^2}+h+Bu^{-(q+1)}-\frac{u_t}{u}\leq\frac{n}{2t} \] and the Harnack inequality \[ u(x_1, t_1)\leq u(x_2, t_2)(\frac{t_2}{t_1})^{\frac{n}{2}}e^{\phi(x_1, x_2, t_1, t_2)+D} \] where \(0<t_1<t_2\), \(\phi(x_1, x_2, t_1, t_2)=\frac{d^2(x_1, x_2)}{t_1-t_2}\) and \(D=h(t_1-t_2).\)
