This article considers both a periodic and antiperiodic problem for the Poisson equation, where the domain is the unit disc situated in the complex plane. First, the authors prove the well-posedness of the two problems. Additionally, they justify the use of separation of variables. Furthermore, Green functions in closed form are constructed and an integral representation of the solution is given. The two problem are shown to be self-adjoint. Finally, all eigenvalues and eigenfunctions are constructed in closed form.
