The notion of essential entropy-carrying set for a continuous map \(f\) on a compact metric space \(X\) has been studied first by the author of this paper in [Int. J. Bifurcation Chaos Appl. Sci. Eng. 22, No. 8, Paper No. 1250195, 9 p. (2012; Zbl 1258.37018)]. ``An entropy-carrying subset \(S\) of \(X\) is called an essential entropy-carrying set of \(f\) if for any other entropy-carrying set \(Y\) of \(f\), \(f\) has an entropy-carrying set \(Z\subseteq S\cap Y\).'' The author considers a class of maps containing the piecewise monotone maps and whose members have a least essential entropy-carrying set, i.e., each map of this class has an essential entropy-carrying set which is contained in every essential entropy-carrying set of it. He also finds the relations between some entropy-carrying sets of a continuous map \(f\) and its essential entropy-carrying set. The results are very interesting and the proofs of the theorems are skilfully written.
