The relation between derivations and commutativity was studied by many authors. But most of them have been investigating the relation by different methods. Most authors have as common aim to show that the rings become commutative. This paper takes part in the same subject by proving several advanced results. The study of centralizing and commuting mappings was initiated by Posner. Several authors have proved commutativity theorems for prime rings or semiprime rings admitting automorphisms or derivations which are centralizing and commuting on appropriate subsets of \(R\). In fact, all the results of the paper depend on the classical definition of derivation which is an additive mapping \(d\colon R\to R\) if \(d(xy)=d(x)y+xd(y)\) holds for all \(x,y\in R\) and a generalized derivation which is an additive mapping \(f\colon R\to R\) if there exists a derivation \(d\colon R\to R\) such that \(f(xy)=f(x)y+xd(y)\), for all \(x,y\in R\). Brešar gave: let \(\alpha\) and \(\beta\) be any two automorphisms of \(R\), an additive mapping \(d\colon R\to R\) is called an \((\alpha,\beta)\)-derivation if \(d(xy)=d(x)\alpha(y)+\beta(x)d(y)\) holds for all \(x,y \in R\). The authors use this definition in this paper. They suppose: let \(R\) be a 2-torsion free \(*\)-prime ring and \(\alpha,\beta\in\Aut\,R\), \(\alpha\) and \(\beta\) any two automorphisms. \(F\) be a nonzero generalized \((\alpha,\beta)\)-derivation of \(R\) with associated nonzero \((\alpha,\beta)\)-derivation \(d\) which commutes with \(*\) and \(J\) be a nonzero \(*\)-Jordan ideal and a subring of \(R\). The aim of them is to prove that \(R\) is commutative when satisfying some conditions. The reader of this paper will find as main condition `2-torsion free', I believe the condition needs to be discussed if it is necessary or not. Finally, the authors close this paper by a list of references.
