Criteria of mutual adjointness of proper extensions of linear relations (Q2255445)

Let \((L,L_0)\) be a pair of closed linear relations in a Hilbert space such that \(L_0\subset L\). A closed linear relation \(L_1\) such that \(L_0\subset L_1\subset L\) is called a proper extension of \(L_0\). Simultaneously, the authors consider proper extensions of \(L^*\), that is, relations \(M_1\) such that \(L^*\subset M_1\subset L_0^*\). The main result is a description (in terms of abstract boundary operators) of conditions under which \(L_1\supset M_1^*\) and, in particular, \(L_1=M_1^*\).
