Let \(V\) be a finite-dimensional real vector space and let \(V^\ast\) be its dual. A model space, \(\mathfrak{M}=(V,\alpha_1,\dots,\alpha_k)\) on \(V\) is a finite collection of contravariant tensors \(\alpha_i\in\otimes V^\ast\). The main focus of the paper is to determine its structure group, \(G_{\mathfrak{M}}\) of all invertible linear operators \(A\in\,\)Aut\((V)\) such that the dual operator \(A^\ast\in\,\)Aut\((V^\ast)\) satisfies \((\otimes A^\ast)\alpha_i=\alpha_i\) for every \(i=1,\dots,k\). The authors concentrate on model spaces that consists of algebraic curvature tensors \[ R_\phi(x,y,z,w)=\phi(x,w)\phi(y,z)-\phi(x,z)\phi(y,w) \] for some nondegenerate symmetric bilinear form \(\phi\) on \(V\). They relate the structure group of model space \((V,R_\phi)\) to the structure group of model space \((V,\phi)\). Special attention is devoted to the split model spaces, that is, to the case where \(V=V_1\oplus V_2\) splits and \(\phi(V_1,V_2)=0\). It is shown, for example, that if a split model space \((V,\alpha)=\bigoplus_1^k (W,R_\phi)\) is defined on a direct sum of identical copies of vector space \(W\) and \(\alpha=\bigoplus_1^k R_\phi\), then its structure group is isomorphic to the wreath product of a structure group of \((W,R_\phi)\) and a symmetric group \(S_k\). The final chapter contains applications to constructing invariants of direct sums of model spaces.
