Conjugacy classes and characters for extensions of finite groups. (Q2257070)

Inspired by results of duality theorems for étale gerbes on orbifolds, the authors study the structures of the conjugacy classes of \(H\) and conjugacy classes of \(Q\); here \(H\) is a finite group with normal subgroup \(G\) such that \(Q\) is isomorphic to the quotient group \(H/G\). They obtain a numerical connection between the number of conjugacy classes of \(H\) that are mapped on some chosen conjugacy class of \(Q\). Also an orthogonality relation has been obtained in respect to the irreducible characters of \(G\) and of \(H\) using properties of \(G\), \(H\) and \(Q\).
