Let \(X\) be a topological space, \(\mathbf{CC}:=\{X\mid X\) is countably compact\(\}\), \(\mathbf{ACC}:=\{X\mid X\) is absolutely countably compact\(\}\), \(\mathbf{SC}:=\{X\mid X\) is starcompact\(\}\), \(\mathbf{SSH}:=\{X\mid X\) is strongly star-Hurewicz\(\}\), \(\mathbf{ASSH}:=\{X\mid X\) is absolutely strongly star-Hurewicz\(\}\), \(\mathbf{SSM}:=\{X\mid X\) is strongly star-Menger\(\}\), and \(\mathbf{ASSM}:=\{X\mid X\) is absolutely strongly star-Menger\(\}\). Let \(A(X)\) denote the Alexandroff duplicate of \(X\). We recall that \(\mathbf{ACC}\subset \mathbf{ASSH}\subset \mathbf{SSH}\), \(\mathbf{ASSH}\subset \mathbf{ASSM}\subset \mathbf{SSM}\), \(\mathbf{CC}\subset \mathbf{SC}\subset \mathbf{SSH}\subset \mathbf{SSM}\) and if \(X\) is a Hausdorff space then (a) \(X\in \mathbf{CC}\) if and only if \(X\in \mathbf{SC}\); (b) if \(X\in \mathbf{ACC}\) then \(X\in \mathbf{CC}\); and (c) \(X\in \mathbf{CC}\) if and only if \(A(X)\in \mathbf{ACC}\). In this paper the author studies absolutely strongly star-Hurewicz spaces. He shows that there exist Tychonoff spaces \(X\) such that: {\parindent=6mm \begin{itemize} \item[(a)] \(X\in \mathbf{ASSH}\) but \(X\notin \mathbf{ACC}\) (Example 2.1); \item [(b)] \(X\in \mathbf{CC}\subset \mathbf{SSH}\) but \(X\notin \mathbf{ASSH}\) and \(A(X)\in \mathbf{ASSH}\) (Example 2.2 and Example 2.11); \item [(c)] \(X\in \mathbf{ASSM}\) but \(X\notin \mathbf{ASSH}\) (Example 2.7); \item [(d)] \(X\in \mathbf{ASSH}\) and there is a regular-closed \(G_\delta\) subspace \(Y\) of \(X\) such that \(Y\notin \mathbf{ASSH}\) (Example 2.9); \item [(e)] (\(\omega_1<\mathfrak{b}=\mathfrak{c}\)) \(X\in \mathbf{ASSH}\) but \(A(X)\notin \mathbf{ASSH}\) (Example 2.10); \end{itemize}} The author also proves that the property `absolutely strongly star-Hurewicz' is preserved under continuous varpseudoopen mappings (Theorem 2.14) but it is not always preserved under continuous mappings (Example 2.13). Finally, assuming \(\omega_1<\mathfrak{b}=\mathfrak{c}\), he shows that there exist spaces \(X\) and \(Y\) and a closed \(2-\)to\(-1\) continuous mapping \(f:X\rightarrow Y\) such that \(Y\in \mathbf{ASSH}\) but \(X\notin \mathbf{ASSH}\).
