Let \(K\) be a complete discrete valuation field \(K\) with imperfect residue field \(\bar{K}\), valuation \(v_K\) and maximal ideal \({\mathfrak m}_K\). It is assumed that \([\bar{K}:\bar{K}^p]=p\). For a natural number \(i\), let \(K_i\) be the composite of all extensions \(L/K\) such that \(L/K\) is given by the equation \(x^p-x=a, a\in{\mathfrak m}_K^{-i}\). For a finite separable extension \(M/K\) and for an intermediate field \(L\), the \textit{ramification depth} is defined as \(d_K(M/L)= \inf_{a\in M}(v_K(\mathrm{Tr}_{M/L} a)-v_K(a))\) and for an infinite separable extension \(E/L\) the ramification depth is defined as \(d_K(E/L)=\sup d_K(M/L)\) where \(M\) runs through all the sub extensions \(M\subseteq E\), \([M:L]<\infty\). The main result is that if \(i\) is a natural number not divisible by \(p\), then \(d_K(K_i/K)=2i\).
