The authors study conditions on analytic functions with values in Banach algebras that guarantee invertibility of all values of the function. The conditions are expressed in terms of certain approximation properties by finite-dimensional subalgebras (including, e.g., the so-called AF \(C*\)-algebras) and quasi-nilpotency of the logarithmic derivative of the function in question. Examples of Banach algebras that fail to have the above property are mentioned.
