Squarefree revlex ideals (Q2259539)

Let \(S\) be a polynomial ring in \(n\) variables with coefficients in a field \(K\). This paper deals with the combinatorics of squarefree revlex ideals of \(S\). The authors prove a squarefree analogue of a result of \textit{T. Deery} [in: The curves seminar at Queen's. Vol. X. Lectures held in Genova, Italy, Spring 1995 and Kingston, Ontario, Canada, Fall 1995. Kingston: Queen's University. 193--219 (1996; Zbl 0873.13003)] about minimal Betti numbers. They then restrict their attention to the relationship between squarefree revlex ideals and revlex ideals, and show that there exists an injection between the class of squarefree revlex ideals and that of revlex ideals. Moreover, they also analyze the extremal Betti numbers of squarefree revlex ideals of \(S\).
