The paper deals with the one-dimensional Log-gas model. It is shown that there is no translation-invariant probability measure on point configuration with minimal energy expectation. And in order to obtain this result, the author derives a lower bound on the renormalized energy of a stationary point process in terms of the difference between its two-point correlation function on the other hand, and that of the stationary process associated to the one-dimensional lattice \(Z\), on the other hand. The proof is lengthy, but the result is quite relevant as far as it describes the behavior of the considered physical systems at the zero temperature.
