    The authors obtain results about entire radial solutions for fourth order equations \[ \Delta^2 u = \lambda_0 e^u\quad \text{in}\quad \mathbb{R}^N, \quad N\geq 5. \] It is established that for \(N\geq 6\), a \(C^4\) entire solution is the maximal radial solution if and only if \(u\) decreases as \(-4\ln |x|\) as \(|x| \to \infty\) (that is, \(u(x) +4\ln |x| \to 0\) as \(|x| \to \infty\)). In the case \(N =5\) the sum \(u(x) +4\ln |x|\) should be of order \(o(|x|^{-\epsilon_0})\) for some \(\epsilon_0>0\).
