This paper discusses the construction of a C\(^*\)-algebra associated to a \textit{multi-valued mapping} on a \(\mathbb Z\)-graded set \(X\), generalizing a construction studied in [\textit{S. A. Grigoryan} and \textit{A. Yu. Kuznetsova}, Math. Notes 87, No. 5, 663--671 (2010; Zbl 1279.46039); translation from Mat. Zametki 87, No. 5, 694--703 (2010)] by two of the authors. Concretely, the set \(X\) is a disjoint union of the form \(X=\bigcup_{n\in\mathbb Z}X_n\), and the multi-valued mappings are maps \(\omega:X\to\mathcal P(X)\), with \(\omega(x)\) finite for all \(x\in X\). The map \(\omega\) is made to induce a linear operator \(T_\omega\) on the Hilbert space \(\mathcal H=\ell^2(X)\), by acting on the canonical basis by \[ T_\omega e_x=\sum_{y\in\omega(x)}e_y. \] The authors then consider, for a finite or infinite countable set \(\Omega\) of directed multi-valued mappings, the \(C^*\)-algebra \[ \mathfrak A_\Omega(X)=C^*(\{T_\omega: \omega\in\Omega\})\subset B(\mathcal H). \] After these definitions, the authors state -- without proof -- a few properties of these algebras, including a strong sufficient condition for being AF. The second half of the paper lists -- again without proof -- ten concrete examples.
