The book, organized on seven chapters, deals with the modeling, analysis and applications of memelements (memristors, memcapacitors and meminductors) which have been defined by L. O. Chua as circuit elements exhibiting pinched hysteresis loops. After a short introduction in which basic and fractional order circuit elements are reviewed and the hystorical background of memelements are presented, in the second chapter a review of memristor physical models and mathematical representations is given. In the next chapter models for the double-loop hysteresis characteristics and the HP physical device are presented, together with a generalization to a fractional order model and experimental results. In Chapter 4 the possibility of using memristive elements in oscillators is investigated together with analytical and simulation results using SPICE. In Chapter 5 applications of memristors in multilevel digital circuits including an example of implementation of a redundant multiplier circuit are analyzed and simulation results are given. The next chapter presents memcapacitors, formulas for getting the dynamics under different excitations, analysis of series and parallel connected pairs of capacitors and a charge controlled memristor-less memcapacitor emulator. Chapter 7 deals with various applications of memcapacitors including several oscillator configurations and a memcapacitor bridge all with SPICE simulations. The last chapter introduces modeling, analysis and emulation of meminductors. Mathematical models of time-invariant meminductors, responses under current excitation and memristor-less meminductor emulators are presented. The book is interesting and can be used by researchers interested in memelements from the theoretical point of view as well as for a number of practical applications.
