Necessary condition for compactness of a difference of composition operators on the Dirichlet space (Q2263993)

Let \(C_\varphi\) be the composition operator induced by the self-map of the unit disk. In the present paper, the authors gave a necessary condition for compactness of the operator \(C_\varphi-C_\psi\) acting on the standard Dirichlet space. As an application, they determine when the commutator \(C_{\psi}^* C_\varphi-C_\varphi C_{\psi}^*\) is compact, where \(\varphi,\psi\) are automorphisms and not equal to the identity.
