A residual-type a posteriori error analysis of the adaptive edge element method is performed for the control constrained three dimensional \(H\mathbf{curl}\)-elliptic distributed optimal control problem. The state and control are discretized using the lowest order edge elements of Nédélec's first family. The residual-type error estimator consists of element and face residuals and data oscillations associated with the problem. The performance of the adaptive algorithm is illustrated for optimal control problems in convex and non-convex \(L\)-shaped domains.
