The formulations and history of several Luzin and Lebesgue problems related to the continuum hypothesis are given, e.g.: ''Lebesgue problem'': Is there some ''individual'' example of an \(\omega_ 1\)-sequence of different points of the continuum? or ''Restreint continuum problem'' of Luzin: Is it possible to introduce an ''individual'' example of a partition of reals to \(\aleph_ 1\) non-empty Borel sets of bounded rank? Instead of the requirement of individual examples the related Luzin problems employ the concept of sieve, e.g.: Problem I. Is there an open sieve C in \({\mathbb{R}}\) such that every exterior constituent contains exactly one point? or Problem V. Is there a simple sieve C such that uncountably many of all constituents are non-empty and all of them have uniformly bounded rank? It turns out that some deep results from the axiomatic set theory including results of the second author give almost complete answers to all given problems. The problems I and V have negative solutions. The other problems have negative solutions if the axiom of the existence of an inaccessible cardinal (IC) is added to ZFC (IC is necessary for this), and positive solutions if the axiom of constructibility is used.
