This article discusses the solution of the initial value problem (1) \(x'(\pi) = A(\pi,x(\pi))\), \(x(\pi_ 0)=x_0\) or the more general associated integral equation (2) \(x(\pi) = x_ 0+\int^{\pi}_{\pi_ 0}A(s,x(s))ds\) by the method of product integration. An existence and uniqueness theorem and related results are proved for solutions of (2) when \(A\) is a (time-dependent, possibly non-linear) vector field on a Banach space, satisfying a Lipschitz condition in the ''space'' variable and an integrability condition in the time variable. The results are not new, but the use of product integration in the generality presented may be of some interest and novelty, thereby justifying the work.
