    The author considers the following nonlinear boundary value problem with nonlocal boundary conditions \[ Lu\equiv -\sum^{n}_{i,j=1}(\partial /\partial x_ i)(a_{ij}(x)\partial u/\partial x_ j)=f(x,u,t), \] \[ u|_{\Gamma}=const,\quad - \int_{\Gamma}\sum^{n}_{i,j=1}a_{ij}(\partial u/\partial x_ j)\cos (n,x_ i)ds=0. \] Under suitable assumptions on f it is proved that there exists \(t_ 0\in R\), \(-\infty <t_ 0<+\infty\) such that the problem has no solution as \(t>t_ 0\), at least one solution at \(t=t_ 0\), at least two solutions as \(t<t_ 0\).
