Two types of biquadratic spline approximations, over a uniform mesh of certain smooth functions f(x,y) defined over \(\Omega =[0,1]\times [0,1]\), are considered. The first approximation is mid-point spline interpolation. The second approximation to f(x,y) is histopline approximation. A result similar to (1) is also established for this approximation. Our methods do not need any knowledge of derivative values. Some numerical evidence is included by interpolating the function \(f(x,y)=\exp (x+y)\) and these results agree with the estimated error bounds.
