Let G be a group which is the product of two subgroups A and B. A subgroup S of G is factorized if \(S=(S\cap A)(S\cap B)\). If N is a normal subgroup of G, there is a smallest factorized subgroup containing N, the factorizor X(N) of N. The following results are established. Theorem 2.2. If \(G=AB\) with A and B Abelian, then every term of the upper central series and the upper FC-central series is factorized. This result is false if A and B are finite p-groups. Theorem 2.6. If \(G=AB\) with A and B abelian, let F be the Fitting subgroup of G. (a) If A and B have finite torsion free rank, then X(F) is locally nilpotent. (b) If A and B are minimax, then F is factorized.
