A finite dimensional Lie superalgebra is said to be quadratic if it is endowed with a nondegenerate even supersymmetric invariant bilinear form. Note that the Killing form of a simple Lie superalgebra may be trivial, even in characteristic 0, and that there are such Lie superalgebras which are not quadratic. The quadratic Lie superalgebras have been studied by the same authors (see [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 213, No. 5, 724--731 (2009; Zbl 1209.17006)] and the references therein). The paper under review deals with the finite dimensional Lie superalgebras endowed with a nondegenerate odd (i.e.; the even and odd parts are isotropic subspaces) supersymmetric invariant bilinear form. These are called odd-quadratic Lie superalgebras. An inductive description of the solvable odd-quadratic Lie superalgebras, as well as descriptions of the odd-quadratic Lie superalgebras with reductive even part over algebraically closed fields of characteristic 0 are given.
