The author investigates the existence of \(T\)-periodic solutions of the equation \[ cx''(t) + x''(t-\tau) + cx''(t-2\tau) -x(t) +f(t, x(t), x(t-\tau), x(t-2\tau)) = 0, \] where \(c\not= 0\) and \(\tau >0\) are constants and the function \(f\) is continuous satisfying certain specified conditions. By using the variational method and critical point and \(Z_2\)-group index theory, it is proved that the equation has an infinite number of \(T\)-periodic solutions.
