The authors consider a second order differential equation with an advanced argument: \[ u''(t) + \lambda f(t, u (h(t))) = 0, \quad t \in (0,1) \] \[ u(0) = 0, \alpha u(\eta) = u(1) \] where \(\eta \in (0,1), \alpha > 0 , 1- \alpha \eta > 0\). The advance argument \(h\) is such that \(t \leq h(t) \leq 1\) and is in \(C((0,1), (0,1])\). The main objective is to study the existence of multiple positive solutions to the above problem. The authors obtain some sufficient conditions for the existence of at least two and at least three positive solutions using the Leggett-Williams fixed point theorem. The results obtained in this paper improve and extend some known results. An illustrative example is also discussed.
