Let \(G\) be a finite group and \(b\) be a block of \(G\) with respect to an algebraically closed field \(k\) of characteristic \(p\). Let \(\mathfrak F\) be the fusion system associated to \(b\), \(Q\) be an \(\mathfrak F\)-centric subgroup and \(\alpha_Q\in H^2(\Aut_{\mathfrak F}(Q),k^\times)\) the canonical class constructed by \textit{B. Külshammer} and \textit{L. Puig} [in Invent. Math. 102, No. 1, 17-71 (1990; Zbl 0739.20003)]. It is conjectured that the elements \(\alpha_Q\) may be glued together to form a class \(\alpha\in H^2(\mathfrak F^c,k^\times)\). Let \(|\Delta_p(G)|\) be the simplicial complex of the non-trivial \(p\)-subgroups of \(G\) and let \(\mathcal A^1\) be the coefficient functor \(G/H\mapsto\Hom(H,k^\times)\). It is shown by \textit{M. Linckelmann} [Homology Homotopy Appl. 11, No. 1, 203-218 (2009; Zbl 1245.20066)] that the gluing problem has a solution if, for every finite group \(G\), the equivariant Bredon cohomology group \(H^1_G(|\Delta_p(G)|,\mathcal A^1)\) vanishes. The aim of this paper is to prove that, for \(G=\mathfrak S_{p^2}\) and \(p\geq 5\), the group \(H^1_{\mathfrak S_{p^2}}(|\Delta_p(\mathfrak S_{p^2})|,\mathcal A^1)\) does not vanish.
