Amongst the plethora of topics covered by the book, the author includes frequency domain, correlation, smoothing, periodograms, autoregression, ARIMA models, discrimination analysis, clustering analysis, factor analysis, dynamic Fourier analysis, random coefficient regression, discrete Fourier transforms, innovative computing algorithms, knowledge extraction, large complex databases, modeling and simulations, integration of hardware, systems and networks, grid computing, visualization, design and communication, business time series applications, biological time series applications, and astronomical time series applications. Every topic in the book is treated very unsubstantially, with an incomplete and concise presentation. The definitions, mathematical results and examples are presented in an obscure fashion and no reader without a solid background on the topic will find it easy to understand. One wonders whether the book might avail the readership interested in the subject. Over 330 references are included in the book which can be pointed out as a remarkable aspect of this forgettable book.
