    The aim of the present article is an estimate of the Bergman kernel of a certain smooth bounded pseudoconvex domain in \(\mathbb{C}^2\) at a boundary point that is not of finite type. The domain is of the form \[ \Omega_F:=\{(z,w)\,|\, \Im w > F(z)\} \] where \(F\) is a radially symmetric function in \(\mathbb{C}\). The Bergman kernel \(K_F\) of this domain is estimated precisely for points within a certain approach region, provided that \(F\) satisfies some additional conditions. These conditions are: a) There exist numbers \(C,R,\eta>0\), such that \(F(z)\geq C|z|^\eta\), for \(|z|>R\), b) The boundary of \(\Omega_F\) is not Levi-flat around the origin c) There exist constants \(B,\epsilon_0>0\) and a function \(\chi\in {\mathcal C} ([0, \epsilon_0])\) such that \(\chi^p\) is convex on \((0,\epsilon_0)\) for some \(p>0\), and \[ \frac{1}{B} \chi (x) \leq \Lambda (x) \leq B \chi (x) \] for all \(x\in [0,\epsilon_0]\), where the function \(\Lambda\) is defined by \(\Lambda (x):=-1/\log F(x)\) for \(0<x<F^{-1}(1)\), and \(\Lambda(0):=0\). For each \(\alpha>0\) and positive integer \(N\) let \({\mathcal A}_{\alpha,N}\) denote the approach region \[ {\mathcal A}_{\alpha,N} :=\{(z,w) \in \Omega_F\,|\, \sqrt{|z|^2+|\Re w|^2} <\alpha (\Im w)^{1/N}\} \] Under these assumptions the author shows: For any \(\alpha>0, N\in \mathbb{Z}_+\), there exists a constant \(H_{N,\alpha}>0\), such that (with universal constants \(C_0,C_1\)) \[ C_0 \frac{1}{(\Im w)^2 [f^{-1}(\Im w)]^2}\leq K_F(z,w) \leq C_1 \frac{1}{(\Im w)^2 [f^{-1}(\Im w)]^2} \] for \((z,w) \in {\mathcal A}_{\alpha,N}, 0<\Im w < H_{N,\alpha}\). As an application, the Bergman kernel of the domain \(\Omega_F\) with a subharmonic function \(F\) is estimated within the above approach region, where \(F\) grows like \(|z|^2\) for large \(|z|\) and \(F(z)=\exp(-1/|z|^\beta)\) near \(0\), where \(\beta>0\).
