In the paper under review, the author describes a closed cone of moving curves \(\overline{NM}(X) \subset N_{1}(X)_{\mathbb{R}}\) of a smooth Fano three- or fourfold \(X\) over the complex numbers \(\mathbb{C}\) by finitely many linear equations. These equations are induced by the exceptional divisors of divisorial contractions and nef divisors on birational models of \(X\) which are obtained by flips. The proof provides an inductive way to compute the cone \(\overline{NM}(X)\) of moving curves and gives a description of the Mori cone of a variety \(X^{+}\) obtained by a flip \(\phi: X \dashrightarrow X^{+}\) of a small contraction of \(X\). The main result (Theorem 1.1 and Proposition 1.2) specifies recent similar results of \textit{C. Araujo} [Math. Z. 264, 179--193 (2010; Zbl 1189.14006)] and \textit{B. Lehmann} [A cone theorem for nef curves, \url{arXiv:math.AG/0807.2294} (2008)] for three- and \(n\)-folds, respectively, with admissible singularities. Furthermore, the main result implies that the cone \(\overline{NM}(X)\) is closed convex polyhedral in \(N_{1}(X)_{\mathbb{R}}\), which is related to the similar result for Fano \(n\)-folds with admissible singularities, see \textit{C. Birkar, P. Cascini, C. D. Hacon} and \textit{J. McKernan} [J. Am. Math. Soc. 23, No. 2, 405--468 (2010; Zbl 1210.14019)]. However, the technique of the proof is different, and relies on the structure theorem for pseudo-effective cone of compact Kähler manifolds from \textit{S. Boucksom, J.-P. Demailly, M. Paun} and \textit{T. Peternell} [The pseudo-effective cone of a compact Kähler manifold and varieties of negative Kodaira dimension, \url{arXiv:math.AG/0405285} (2004)] on the one hand, and the description of flips in dimension four in \textit{Y. Kawamata} [Math. Ann. 284(4), 595--600 (1989; Zbl 0661.14009)] on the other.
