The paper under review deals with the study of two different monotone quantities defined for the Ricci flow. One is Perelman's reduced volume [\textit{G. Perelman}, ``The entropy formula for the Ricci flow and its geometric applications'', \url{arXiv:math/0211159} (2002; Zbl 1130.53001)] and the second was discovered by \textit{K. Ecker, D. Knopf, L. Ni} and \textit{P. Topping} [J. Reine Angew. Math. 616, 89--130 (2008; Zbl 1170.35050)]. The author shows that their asymptotic limits coincide.
