    Let \(D\subset\mathbb C^n\) be a pseudoconvex domain with \(\mathcal C^\omega\) (resp.~\(\mathcal C^\infty\)) boundary. Let \(M\subset\partial D\) be an \((n-1)\)--dimensional submanifold that is totally real and complex tangential at \(p\in M\) (resp.~in a neighborhood of \(p\in M\)). The author presents sufficient conditions for \(M\) to be a local peak set at \(p\) for the class \(\mathcal O\) (resp.~\(\mathcal C^\infty\)), i.e.~there exist a neighborhood \(U\subset\mathbb C^n\) of \(p\) and a function \(f\in\mathcal O(U)\) (resp.~\(\mathcal A^\infty(U\cap D)\)) such that \(|f|<1\) on \((U\cap\overline D)\setminus M\) and \(f=1\) on \(U\cap M\).
