A subgroup \(H\) of a group \(G\) is called permutable (or quasinormal) if \(HK=KH\) for all subgroups \(K\) of \(G\). A group \(G\) is called a PT-group if permutability is a transitive relation. A subgroup \(H\) is called S-permutable if \(HS=SH\) for every Sylow \(p\)-subgroup \(S\) of \(G\) and for each prime \(p\). Finally a group \(G\) is called a PST-group if S-permutability is a transitive relation in \(G\), which means that if \(H\) is an S-permutable subgroup of \(G\) and if \(K\) is an S-permutable subgroup of \(H\) then \(K\) is an S-permutable subgroup of \(G\). Finite soluble PST-groups were characterized in the paper of \textit{R. K. Agrawal} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 47, 77-83 (1975; Zbl 0299.20014)]. In the paper now under consideration the authors consider periodic locally soluble CC-groups, where \(G\) is a CC-group if \(G/C_G(x^G)\) is Chernikov, for all elements \(x\in G\). The authors extend Agrawal's theorem to the class of periodic locally soluble CC-groups obtaining necessary and sufficient conditions for such a group to be a PST-group. They use this structure theorem to deduce that the class of periodic locally soluble CC-groups that are PST-groups is closed under taking subgroups. -- This is a very nice paper.
