Estimates for multilinear mappings have been studied by many authors. In this paper, the authors extend and generalize such estimations in two directions: On the one hand, estimates which are known for mappings on \(\ell_p\)-spaces are generalized to mappings on arbitrary Banach spaces. On the other hand, estimates which are known for \((1;1)\)-summing mappings are extended to \((q;1)\)-summing mappings. One of the main results is the following Theorem: If \(r>n\geq 2\) and \(E,E_1,\dots,E_n\) are Banach spaces, then \[ {\mathcal L}_{\text{as}(\frac{r}{r-n};r^\ast)}(E_1,\dots,E_n)={\mathcal L}(E_1,\dots,E_n) \] holds isometrically and \[ {\mathcal P}_{\text{as}(\frac{r}{r-n};r^\ast)}(^nE)={\mathcal P}(^nE)\text{ holds with } \| \cdot\| \leq \| \cdot\|_{\text{as}(\frac{r}{r-n};r^\ast)} \leq \frac{n^n}{n!}\| \cdot\|, \] where \(r^\ast :=\frac{r}{r-1}\). In the last section of this paper, the authors give a definition of strongly \((p;q)\)-summing \(n\)-linear mappings as a generalization of strongly \(p\)-summing multilinear mappings introduced by \textit{V.\,Dimant} [J.~Math.\ Anal.\ Appl.\ 278, No.\,1, 182--193 (2003; Zbl 1043.47018)]. The authors show that the space of strongly \((p;q)\)-summing \(n\)-linear mappings with values in the Banach space \(F\), \( {\mathcal L}_{\text{ss}(r;q)}(E_1,\ldots,E_n;F)\), is contained in the space of \((r;p^\ast)\)-summing mappings, \({\mathcal L}_{\text{as}(r;p^\ast)}(E_1,\dots,E_n;F)\), for arbitrary Banach spaces and \(p>n\), \(r\geq q \geq \frac {p}{p-n}\).
