This short paper is an announcement of results, hence the proofs are only sketched. Notwithstanding, the main lines of the arguments are provided. The paper is concerned with the existence of whiskered KAM tori, both in finite and infinite dimensions. The theoretical results are applied to the Klein-Gordon models to obtain a particular type of whiskered tori with an infinite number of frequencies. The results are stated in an ``a posteriori'' form, which in this case means that the invariant tori are given as embeddings and their existence is ensured if there exists an embedding which is an approximate solution of the invariance equations. Then the true invariant object is close to the approximate one. One of the advantages of this approach is that it can be used to validate numerical results since it is formulated in the original coordinates. The first theorem is stated for whiskered tori in a finite dimensional exact symplectic manifold. It is presented for exact symplectic analytic maps and follows the approach in [the second author et al., Nonlinearity 18, No. 2, 855--895 (2005; Zbl 1067.37081)]. In particular, it does not need the symplectic form to be the canonical one nor the system to be close to integrable. The second theorem deals with whiskered tori in weakly coupled maps defined on lattices, as in [the first two authors and \textit{P. Martin}, J. Differ. Equations 250, No. 6, 2838--2886 (2011; Zbl 1213.37114)]. The maps under consideration have to be perturbations of an uncoupled map lattice, namely, of the form \(F=F_0 + \varepsilon F_1\), where \(F_0 = \bigotimes_{\mathbb{Z}^d}f\) and \(f:M \to M\) is an analytic exact symplectic map on an exact symplectic manifold with both a positive measure set of KAM tori and a hyperbolic fixed point. Assuming some ``decay properties'' on the perturbation, an analogous result to Theorem~1 is obtained for a finite number of frequencies. Finally, Theorem~2 is applied to obtain tori with an infinite number of frequencies, provided they are located in nodes which are very far away from each other and the result for the Klein-Gordon models is stated.
