Using the (nonlinear) \(p\)-Laplancian operator \(\Delta_{p,\omega}\) on finite networks (i.e.\ graphs \(G\) with weight function \(\omega\)), the paper investigates the discrete \(p\)-Schrödinger operator \[ {\mathcal L}_{p,\omega}u:=-\Delta_{p,\omega}u+q|u|^{p-2}u \] on networks, where the function \(q\) operates on the vertices of \(G\). In detail, the corresponding eigenvalue problem for \({\mathcal L}_{p,\omega}\) is studied, as well as properties of the eigenvector associated to the smallest eigenvalue. The final section contains four equivalent characterizations for the smallest eigenvalue to be positive. They guarantee existence conditions for solutions to the equation \({\mathcal L}_{p,\omega}u=f\).
