Let \(X,Y\) be compact metric spaces and let \(\text{Lip}_0(X)\) and \(\text{Lip}_0(Y)\) be pointed Lipschitz {*}-algebras over \(X\) and \(Y\), respectively. By such structure the authors mean the {*}-algebra of all scalar-valued Lipschitz functions vanishing at a given point of the underlying metric space. They investigate surjective maps \(T:\text{Lip}_0(X) \to \text{Lip}_0(Y)\) which satisfy any of the following conditions: (1) \(\| T(f)T(g)\|_\infty=\|fg\|_\infty \quad (f,g\in \text{Lip}_0(X))\); (2) \(\| T(f)\overline{T(g)}-{\mathbf 1}\|_\infty=\|f\overline{g}-{\mathbf 1}\|_\infty \quad (f,g\in \text{Lip}_0(X))\); (3) \(\text{Ran}_\pi(T(f)\overline{T(g)})\cap\text{Ran}_\pi(f\overline{g})\neq \emptyset \quad (f,g\in \text{Lip}_0(X))\). These are called norm multiplicativity condition, non-symmetric {*}-multiplicativity condition and weakly peripherally {*}-multiplicativity condition, respectively (here, \(\text{Ran}_\pi\) stands for the peripheral range of functions). The authors present complete descriptions of the structure of those transformations. In fact, it turns out that they are closely related to composition operators. Results for algebras of all Lipschitz functions are also given. The presented results nicely complement recently obtained results concerning algebras of continuous functions.
