Let \(M\) be a smooth closed manifold and \(G\) a discrete group. A \(G\)-operator on \(M\) is an operator \(D:L^2(M)\rightarrow L^2(M)\) expressed by a finite sum \(D=\sum_{g\in G}D_g\Phi_g\) where \(D_g\) are pseudodifferential operators of order zero on \(M\) and \(g\rightarrow \Phi_g\) defines a representation of \(G\) in \(\mathcal{B}(L^2(M))\); sometimes the more general case of almost representations is studied. The aim of this paper is to study \(G\)-operators when the representation of \(G\) in \(\mathcal{B}(L^2(M))\) is given by \textit{quantized canonical transformations} since these operators arise naturally in several problems of index theory and noncommutative geometry. In the simplest case, where \(D=\Phi_g\) for a single quantized canonical transformation, the Atiyah-Weinstein index problem is recovered. A main tool introduced by the authors \textit{trajectory symbols} which are a collection of symbols (finite difference operators) on \(l^2\)-spaces of \(G\).
