Let \((X,\mathscr{O})\) be a ringed space. In his 2003 thesis, \textit{J. R. Gillespie} [``The flat model structure on chain complexes of modules.'' Ph. D. thesis, Wesleyan University. 61 p. (2003)] proved that the flat cotorsion pair \((\mathscr{F},\mathscr{C})\) in the category \(\mathrm{Sh}(\mathscr{O})\) of sheaves of \(\mathscr{O}\)-modules gives rise to induced cotorsion pairs \((\mathrm{dg}\widetilde{\mathscr{F}},\widetilde{\mathscr{C}})\) and \((\widetilde{\mathscr{F}},\mathrm{dg} \widetilde{\mathscr{C}})\) in the category \(\mathrm{Ch}(\mathscr{O})\) of chain complexes. In the same thesis, this is proved for more general Grothendieck categories instead of \(\mathrm{Sh}(\mathscr{O})\). The paper under review, which is inspired by Gillespie's results, takes a much more general point of view. For a left rooted quiver \(Q\), and a cotorsion pair \((\mathscr{A},\mathscr{B})\) in an abelian category \(\mathscr{M}\) with enough projectives and injectives satisfying AB4 and AB4\(^\ast\), the authors exhibit a cotorsion pair \((\Phi(\mathscr{A}),\mathrm{Rep}(Q,\mathscr{B}))\) in the category \(\mathrm{Rep}(Q,\mathscr{M})\) of \(Q\)-representations with values in \(\mathscr{M}\), and a similar cotorsion pair \((\mathrm{Rep}(Q,\mathscr{A}),\Psi(\mathscr{B}))\) in \(\mathrm{Rep}(Q,\mathscr{M})\). The descriptions of projectives or injectives of quiver representations, which have been obtained in a series of previous investigations by several authors, are recovered.
