    The authors say that for a bounded linear operator \(T\) on a Hilbert space the Beurling type theorem holds if every \(T\)-invariant subspace \(M\) is the smallest \(T\)-invariant subspace containing \(M\ominus TM\). For a sequence of positive numbers \(\lbrace \gamma_{mn}\rbrace_{m,n=1}^{\infty}\), denote by \(H^{2}(\gamma)\) the Hilbert space of all formal power series \(f(z,w)=\sum_{m,n=0}^{\infty}a_{mn}z^{m}w^{n}\) satisfying the condition \[ \Vert f \Vert_{\gamma}^{2} = \sum_{m,n=0}^{\infty} \gamma_{mn}^{2}\vert a_{mn}\vert^{2} < +\infty. \] Denote by \(T_{z}\) and \(T_{zw}\) the multiplication operators by \(z\) and \(zw\), respectively, acting on \(H^{2}(\gamma)\). It is supposed that these operators are bounded. There are found sufficient conditions that for these operators the Beurling type theorem holds. Applications are given for operators on the Hardy space on the bidisk and on weighted Bergman spaces.
