A characterization of the generalized spectral radius with Kronecker powers (Q2276135)

Based on Turán's power sum theory, in this note a result presented by \textit{V. D. Blondel} and \textit{Y. Nesterov} [SIAM J. Matrix Anal. Appl. 27, No.~1, 256--272 (2005; Zbl 1089.65031)] is extended in the following form: The generalized spectral radius of \(\Sigma = \{ A_1,\dots,A_m \} \subset {\mathbb C}^{n \times n}\) is characterized by \(\rho (\Sigma ) = \mathop {\lim \sup }\limits_{k \to \infty } \rho ^{1/k} (A_1^{ \otimes k} + \cdots + A_m^{ \otimes k} )\), where \(A_i^{ \otimes k}\) is the \(k\)th Kronecker power of \(A_i^{}\).
