The author proves the existence of positive radially symmetric solutions of the equation \[ \Delta u+g(x)u^ p+h(x)u=0;\text{ in } A=\{x\in {\mathbb{R}}^ N| \quad 0<r_ 1<| x| <r_ 2<\infty \} \] with \(p>1\) and \(N\geq 3\) under homogeneous Dirichlet- or Neumann boundary conditions on \(\partial A\). g and h are assumed to be radially symmetric, continuous and g is positive in at least one point in A. In addition to that conditions on integrals of type \[ \int_{A}g_+(x)(r_ 1^{2- N}-| x|^{2-N})^{(p+1)/2}dx \] are assumed to be satisfied by g and h.
