The system of difference equations \(x_{n+1}=Ax_ n+P(\phi_ n)x_ n\), \(\phi_{n+1}=\phi_ n+\omega\), \(n\in N\), where A, P are square matrices, P is \(2\pi\)-periodic, can be, under certain assumptions reduced to a system of difference equations with constant coefficients. In this paper the set \({\mathcal M}(P)\) of matrices A is investigated, which allow this reduction. Under rather complicated assumptions, involving among others a positive value \(\epsilon\), the basic result of the paper states that \(\lim_{\epsilon \to 0}mes {\mathcal M}(P)=1\). Here, the measure of the set of \(s\times s\) matrices is derived from the Lebesgue measure of \(E^{s^ 2}\).
