[For part I see ibid. 27, No.3, 367-375 (1988; Zbl 0661.55009).] The purpose of this paper is to prove: let X be a finite simply connected CW complex, then any interval [k,\(\ell]\), such that \(\Pi_ k(X)\) and \(\Pi_{\ell}(X)\) both contain copies of \({\mathbb{Z}}\), but \(\Pi_ i(X)\) is finite for \(k<i<\ell\), satisfies \(\ell -k<n=\dim X\). Moreover if \(\Pi_*(X)\otimes {\mathbb{Q}}\) is infinite dimensional then, for each k, \(\Pi_ k(X)\) contains \({\mathbb{Z}}\). By contrast, \(\Pi_*(X)\otimes {\mathbb{Q}}\) is finite dimensional if and only if \(\Pi_ i(X)\) is finite for 2n\(\leq i\leq 3n-2\).
