On M-sequences associated to filtrations (Q2277031)

The authors present a unified theory of the generalized regular sequences associated to filtrations on modules. They extend the relative regular sequences of \textit{M. Fiorentini} [J. Algebra 18, 384-389 (1971; Zbl 0224.13011)] and the homogeneous regular sequences of \textit{P. Bouchard} [Ann. Sci. Math. Qué. 6, 23-42 (1982; Zbl 0509.13011)]. There are studied the Zariski filtrations and the projective regularity for graded modules over graded rings. There are also studied the filtrations in the sense of the Gabriel topologies. In the case of the finitely generated modules M over noetherian rings R the existence of the weakly-regular sequences in an ideal I is related to properties of \(Ext^ i_ R(N,M)\), where N are finitely generated R-modules with the support contained in V(I).
