Let X be a nonempty compact space and let \(f_ i: X\to {\mathbb{R}}\cup \{\infty \}\) be l.s.c. functions for \(i\in I:=\{1,2,...,n\}\) such that the function F: \(X\times I\to {\mathbb{R}}\cup \{\infty \}\), \(F(x,i):=f_ i(x)\), is convex-like in its first variable. The authors give two equivalent formulations for the solvability of the system of inequalities \(f_ i(x)\leq 0\), \(i\in I\). This result is an extension of a theorem of Ky Fan, who proved it for the case that the \(f_ i\) have their values only in \({\mathbb{R}}.\) Starting from their theorem, the authors obtain the classical theorems of Mazur-Orlicz, Hahn-Banach and König by simple proofs. An application to game theory is given by the formulation of necessary and sufficient conditions for the nonemptiness of a T-core of a game \(\nu\).
