The author discusses two axiomatizations of fuzzy classes already proposed by \textit{E. W. Chapin} [Notre Dame J. Formal Logic 15, 619-634 (1974; Zbl 0236.02049)] and \textit{A. J. Weidner} [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 6, 61- 72 (1981; Zbl 0469.03037)], adding the basic axioms of his own theory, where the following conditions are intended to be fulfilled: 1. Every object has its specific valuation set. 2. There is a quaternary predicate \(\in (x,y,z,t)\) representing the membership (to be read as ``x belongs to y with degree z related to the valuation set t''). 3. The valuation set has membership degrees and a valuation set. 4. The comparison relation among degrees is fuzzy. 5. An axiom of construction is assumed. Paralleling the axiomatization of Kelley-Morse the author mentions that the outlined theory can be interpreted in Kelley-Morse theory. Furthermore he states that Zermelo-Fraenkel theory and the theories of Chapin and Weidner can be interpreted in his new theory. Unfortunately the author restricts himself to the introduction of basic axioms, neglecting consistency considerations and an advanced investigation of his approach.
