Point functions are important tools to induce homomorphism between set algebras. The concept of inducing homomorphisms by point functions between relation algebras is introduced and those functions are characterized which induce homomorphism or base-homomorphism, respectively. An example is presented for homomorphism induced by a point function whose homomorphism is not a base-homomorphism. It is shown that in the case of full relation set algebras every homomorphism induced by point function is a base-homomorphism. Similar results can be obtained for cylindric set algebras, too.
