Classes caractéristiques pour les cônes projectifs et homologie d'intersection. (Characteristic classes for projective cones and intersection homology) (Q2277530)

In order to define Chern numbers for complex analytic spaces one would like to lift the Chern classes (constructed by M. H. Schwartz and R. MacPherson) to intersection homology. Although some negative results have been obtained there is a conjecture that this can always be done for rational coefficients. In this paper it is shown that if the conjecture is true for a projective variety Y then it is true for the projective cone on Y; in particular it is true for any iterated cone on Y if Y is a rational homology manifold.
